Quality
Quality is a crucial aspect of conducting successful
test programs and is a deeply held value at Qualtest.
All calibrations of our
measurement and test equipment are performed in
compliance with ANSI / NCSL Z540-1-1994 and ISO 10012.
Our test laboratory is registered to the ISO 9001
quality management standard and accredited to the ISO /
IEC 17025 laboratory competence standard; thus, we must
constantly meet extremely high expectations for
achieving customer satisfaction. Other certifications include
package testing from the International Safe Transit
Association ( ISTA),
and lightweight hammer shock testing from the U.S. Navy.

An effective QMS develops accountability, communication,
and management involvement. It assists an

an organization with an outside pair of eyes having an
in-depth knowledge of the management system. This

utilizing it in the most effective manner. Third
party involvement also provides customers with an added

commitment to consistent quality and expectations.

The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation
(A2LA) is a signatory to several bilateral and
multilateral recognition agreements. These agreements
facilitate the acceptance of test and calibration data
between A2LA-accredited laboratories and 46 economies
around the globe. In addition, A2LA has recognition from
over 30 federal, state and local government agencies,
companies and associations. |

On June 18, 2005, a Joint ISO-ILAC-IAF Communiqué on the
Management Systems Requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005
was issued. The text of this communiqué reads as
follows:
“A laboratory’s fulfillment of the requirements of ISO/IEC
17025:2005 means the laboratory meets both the technical
competence requirements and management system
requirements that are necessary for it to consistently
deliver technically valid test results and calibrations.
The management system requirements in ISO/IEC 17025
(Section 4) are written in language relevant to
laboratory operations and meet the principles of ISO
9001:2000 Quality Management Systems—Requirements and
are aligned with its pertinent requirements.” |

To ensure the highest level of customer commitment, the
Qualtest EMI/EMC test laboratory is accredited by both
the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program
(NVLAP) and A2LA, even though both are full signatories
to international mutual recognition arrangements (MRA).
The MRA's are with the International Laboratory
Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the Asia Pacific
Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC), which
assures the international recognition of accredited
Qualtest data and reports. |

(ISTA)

ISTA Laboratory Certification exemplifies a strong
commitment to transport packaging professionalism, as
well as assuring that a laboratory is properly equipped to
conduct ISTA package performance testing.
Certification is available only to ISTA members and
requires the completion of a series of equipment
verification activities to demonstrate the lab's ability
to provide testing services in accordance with the
procedures listed on the scope. Refer to

The Carderock Division of the Naval Surface Warfare
Center (CDNSWC) has certified the Qualtest Lightweight
Hammer Shock Machine (LWSM); which ensures that the
machine complies with the requirements of MIL-S-901 for
the provision of compliant shock testing. |
