Test Engineer/Technician - EMC
 
This position requires the ability to perform EMC testing and evaluate customer provided components in compliance with military and aerospace specifications such as MIL-STD-461 and RTCA/DO-160.  The perspective candidate is expected to have a thorough understanding of instrumentation like signal generators, spectrum analyzers, transient generators, RF broadband amplifiers, antennas, and current probes; and how to properly perform EMC test set-ups.  Experience with TILE! and other EMC measurement software programs are a plus.
 
Responsibilities
 
The candidate must be able to produce valid data and document test activities that demonstrate test compliance in a clear, accurate, complete and concise manner.  In addition, the candidate must be able to understand, support and work within the requirements of the company quality management system.
 
Skills
 
This position requires the ability to read, write and speak in the English language to the extent necessary to understand and communicate technical information and to interface effectively with customers and company personnel.  In addition, an ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and comprehend and apply mathematical concepts including algebra, trigonometry, logarithms, exponents, and statistics is essential.  The candidate should be competent in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database programs, data acquisition programs and measuring instruments; and have prior experience configuring test and measurement equipment to accomplish test objectives, determining test quality control requirements, conducting tests, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting test activities.

Qualifications and Requirements
 
U.S. citizenship and a valid driver’s license are required.  NARTE certification is a plus.  A qualified engineer applicant will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related filed of study and have at least three years of EMC testing experience.  A qualified technician applicant will possess an Associate’s Degree in Electronics or related field of study and have at least five years of EMC testing experience.

Test Technicians - Dynamics

This position requires the ability to perform and document vibration and mechanical shock tests in compliance with customer specified requirements.  Typical equipment used to accomplish these tasks includes electro-dynamic shakers, power amplifiers, profile controllers, free fall shock machines, oscilloscopes, and FFT analyzers.  As a consequence of this type of work, an understanding of fixturing and mounting techniques is essential.  When dynamic tests are performed at other than standard ambient conditions, technicians are also expected to operate the associated environmental chambers.

Test Technicians - Climatics

Position Summary

This position requires the ability to perform and document climatic exposure tests in compliance with customer specified requirements.  Typical chambers used to accomplish these tasks include temperature, humidity, altitude, rapid decompression, thermal vacuum, salt fog, explosive atmosphere, sand, dust, rain, spray, and solar radiation.  For this type of work, it is useful to have a basic understanding of cascade cooling systems, pumps, controller programming techniques, and natural climatic processes.  An understanding of mechanical interactions and corrosive effects is also helpful.

Test Technicians - Hydraulics

This position requires the ability to perform and document fluid power tests in compliance with customer specified requirements.  Typical equipment used to accomplish these tasks includes high pressure / flow power supplies; valves, piping, fittings, filters, accumulators, intensifiers, and rams; pressure, flow and temperature sensors; and digital control and data collection instrumentation.  Knowledge of fluid properties, high pressure safety, and proper fluid storage and disposal regulations is desired.  An ability to write and use LabView® programs is also helpful.  When tests are performed at other than standard ambient conditions, technicians are also expected to operate the associated environmental chambers.
